I have an office mate na nag-start magtayo ng isang poultry farm. Nag-iinvite sya ng mga ka-ofcmate nmen na mag-invest sa kanyang poultry. Ang promised na kitaan dito is after 45 days may porsyento kami sa kita nya,depende kung magkano ang ininvest mo. And after that,ibabalik nya sa amin yung pera namin,capital + tubo then nasa amin na kung magiinvest ulit kmi sa kanila.parang paikot-ikot lang yung mangyayari. Since wala akong idea sa poultry, pinag-iisipan ko kung mag-iinvest ako or hinde..Gusto ko sanang i-try since gusto kong lumago ang pera ko kesa naman ilagay ko sya sa banko na hindi naman tumutubo pero hindi ko sure kung magandang mag-invest sa ganito.

Any advice,pls? I have to decide this month kase..tnx!!

Ang pinakamalupit na tanong eh, "How trustworthy is your officemate?"

Ang mahirap niyan eh, siya ang may alam ng lahat, at wala kayong alam sa poultry business. Kung may tiwala ka talaga sa officemate mo eh, do all the legal stuff and learn about the poultry business.

hehe.. I trust my officemate naman..ang hindi ko lang sure ay kung kikita ba talaga ako..she's just starting palang kasi although may background na sa poultry yung kamag-anak niya..anyway,thanks for the advice,switchiz..i'm new here in pmt forum and I find it very helpful..

check all the docs, kung pwede pay the farm a visit, wag lang hearsay....

Kung nabasa nyo yun mga scams here sa PMT youll know what switchiz means

Basta check lang maigi ha....mahirap na kasi kung makai[pon sya ng funds at biglang nag AWOL, worst case scenario lang naman yan...

Basically,among PMT scams possible scammers, most of them nag ask ng investment for their businesses and promises big returns here sa PMT, and then ayun, mostly after 1 year, kaboom, tangay na ang capital ng investor at di na nakabayad....

saan ang market?
may READY market na kaya kung sakali?

wala ko experience jan, pero ang alam ko ang mga BIG companies na buyers ng poultry products ay may suppliers na (contract growers). so depende sa market/client ng pamilya ng officemate mo, baka hindi magtagal ang negosyong itatayo.
(just this week, may kausap ako na nagkwentong nalugi siya - recently? - sa egg business nya, at baon ngayon sa utang)

btw, sa bangko, tumtubo ang pera mo ng interes. maliit nga lang.
saka base sa 2nd post mo above, kamag anak ng officemate mo ang may alam sa negosyong yan... kailangan tanungin mo ng mabuti kung ano talaga ang alam&experience nun sa poultry business.

mas ok rin na mag isip ka pa ng ibang negosyo, marami naman jan. kailangan lang suriing mabuti at dapat naaayon sa goals & lifestyle mo.

Investing in a business is not synonimous with safe. Added to that investing in a business you know nothing about & would just make a decision based on trust. I'm not saying your officemate shouldn't be trusted.

Here are the following factors to consider before jumping in:

1. How long are they in the poultry raising business?
2. What proof can they provide that the biz will be profitable
3. The risk involved around poultry biz
4. Trustworthiness, managing skills & how well you know the relative.
5. Accounting. Dapat meron kang Tao na hahawak at magchecheck ng cashflow ng business.
6. How often are you going to visit the farm to check it's operations?
7. Lastly & more importantly are you willing to risk the money knowing there's a possibility to lose it all investing in the business proposal?

Going into business by yourself already has a lot of risk involved.
Investing in another one's business adds more to that risk
having somebody else manage that biz adds up some more.

When you invested in a business offering thinking you will surely make money & return of investment is a sure shot. You are definitely not using your head.

Safe is always better than being sorry. There's also a thread about Wesley farm you might want to check out. Just search for it. Though it doesn't involved poultry but hog raising. You might learn a thing or 2 there.

actually,on going na ang poultry nya ngaun...ang alam ko ndi sya kalakihan pero meron na syang ready na pagbebentahan ng mga manok nya

sa ngaun wala pa silang contract growers kasi hindi pa nila namimit ung requirements ng mga growers like san miguel kasi nga nag-i-start pa lng sila..

Just to add. Since some of your office mates are willing to invest & 45 days Lang naman for you to find out the results. Why not wait it out so you can see result of their investments?

actually,meron na qng mga ofcmates na nag-invest sa kanya..meron yatang nag-invest ng 15k at tumubo naman ung pera nila ng 2k sumthing in 45 days..so anu pong masasabi nyo?is that good deal or bad deal?

Kung may passion talaga sya sa business na ito, tingin ko feasible naman. Actually, dream business ko ito. Gusto ko rin mag set up ng sarili kong poultry pag nag retire na ako sa kaka-trabaho.

I support entrepreneurs. This country needs more entrepreneurs, more creative minds, more risk takers. As to poultry farming, I don't think people will stop eating poultry produce. You just have to find someone who is willing to buy your produce at a good price or else you'll sell it at a cheaper price just to sell it.
