:hihi:

Hehe when I was younger I'd give part of my baon to this institution. My mom and other relatives hands over the money to me during the "offering" part. Hell, after the mass I see these women talking about some things, gossiping and all the other bad stuff while counting the money. Well, if you would ask me if that was the reason I didn't like to give money then it's not just like that.

You see some priests doing this doing that while wasting a lot of money. Owning this owning that while wasting a lot of money. Driving this driving that, buying this buying that. But...they rarely report where they spend these things. I deserve a clear report on that as a "stakeholder".

Or if they do this thing for your family, for example, blessing this sick old man of yours, my relative says it's mandatory to give them "something". I'll just see somebody from my family hand out this blue bill and the priest will hug them and say thank you.

That's why I never give even a single cent anymore to these "charitable religious institutions". I can be charitable in my own ways. I help other people every now and then. I do them favors without asking for anything in return. I forgive and forget. Isn't that way much better than donating your stuff like throwing them away like garbage, not knowing where they will go?

These are only a mere accusation to our priest unless proven otherwise, hehehe!!!  have you tried before to asked them a report? baka wala ka namang ginawa and thinking that the institution will send you paper report at home, as far as I know, whatever the project that the church have they usually announced after the mass their collection at kung saan na sila, and they let the people know what are their projects or maybe you just didnt listened or didnt finish the mass.

again.." my realative says its mandatory"  wow!! He just based his conclusion from the second source, have you tried to explained to the priest that you don't have money. wala ano? so paano mo ma confirm if its mandatory, for your info catholic church doesn't sell the sacraments, its a sin selling the sacraments( simony), the money you pay is for their services, read 2 Corinthians 11:7-8

its a wrong notion that priest had a lot of money, its other way around, walang pasahod ang simbahan(Catholic Churc) sa kanila, .

I beg to differ and just setting the record straight, may sweldo ang pari katoliko. As former sacristan I know it - they have pay slips too.

Please re examine my statement sir. No "exclusivity" was told about the Catholic Church. Nasaan nga ba ang Catholic Church diyan? Did I mention something?

What about kung hindi innannounce after their collection? Di nga nila inaanounce magkano kinikita nila eh. Anyway, hindi ko po puntirya RCC dito ok.

Again, I have witnessed it myself. It's all about hiya. Tradisyon yun within our family to give money, but, they could have rejected it naman diba?

Hehe di ko din alam to sir, as a full-fledged sakristan, but what I'm sure is - may mga tips tips yan, sa mga blessing ng patay, etc.

Anyway, bakit nga ba tayo napupunta sa RCC? Diba ang thread is about Religion/Charistmatic Groups? Diba broad po ang saklaw nito hindi lamang ang RCC? RCC wasn't even mentioned once in my post. :)

just my opinion, sa catholic church di mandatory ung tithes unlike sa ibang religions, saka being exposed, i think they need to do the reinvesting para masustentuhan ung mga projects/causes nila like orphanage, home for the aged, support for the sick/critically-ill, etc... di lang tau aware pero in fairness marame tlga clang sinusuportahan, kulang tlga funds nila kc sa simbahan iilan lang tlaga ung nagbibigay ng malalaking support or tithes nila, madalas barya-barya lang, kung di cla magrereinvest, mauubos lang ung pera nila sa mga expenses, parang tau lang din yan, there is a need for saving/investing for retirement, pero madalas cnasabi ng mga kababayan natin, panu kme magsasave eh kulang pa nga ung kinikita namin? i think they are just wise enough to save/reinvest the funds for future needs or for future generation, besides if they are doing it the wrong way or out of greed, wala man tau magawa, but remember, God is watching, and there's always a payback time  :cool2:

Payback, you did not explicitly mention it but it clearly implied; Mass, Offering, Priest  pwede kapa makalusot dito kasi meron din naman sa aglipay o ibang sect ang mga ito, but the thread title clearly stated “CHARISMATIC GROUP”, Catholic group yan.

Nasa  Caritas Manila website bro(http://www.caritasmanila.org.ph/index.php) makikita mo kung magkano naitutulong nila every may kalamidad tayo sa pinas, and take note isa lang yan sa mga ahensiya ng simbahan na may mga ganyang Gawain, marami pang iba.

If you have conviction of what he's selling why not? who will stop you from doing that? its up to the public, Im sure they have also brain like us, and Mike or I dont know who's selling those stuff they have also capital/cost of those handkerchief or whatever, in my opinion this is much better than those pastors obliged their members for 10% tithing at may sahod pa sila. :hihi:

^it is wrong for a church or anybody to OBLIGED members to give tithes. it is even wrong (in my opinion) for church pastors/leaders to investigate who's giving and who's not. the best that they can do is only to encouraged members to give tithes out of love.

...but i can't find something wrong na ang pastor ay bigyan ng sahod. what's the difference of a pastor receiving a fixed salary, with a priest receiving members' offerings as his "wages"?

i can't find something wrong also with offerings (gathered by catholic church) to be sent to vatican. that's normal because catholic church's head is vatican.

its like taking advantage of people..usually ang nga pumupunta sa mga religious group are yung mga taong may problema, lalo na financially..then may darating na pastor or pari na ang ituturo sayo mali, sasabihan ka na kailangan mo ng panyo na ganito, itlog na ganun, or ano2x pa..lalong gumugulo utak ng tao...sabi nga nila "freely you receive then freely give" my point is turuan mo na lang ng libre ung tao wala ng madaming kaartehan, ma pari ka man or pastor.

regarding the vatican, la naman ako sinasabi na mali yun..i'm just stating a fact na dun talaga pumupunta lahat ng pera na galing sa catholic church..its their "government thing".
