Depends on your risk apetite and the % of your 100K against your total portfolio...

If you ask me..at this moment i'll go for Equity...100K

Why 3 months? It seems that you'll need it in 3 months. less risk go for bond. but if you won't need the whole 100,000 then invest the difference on Equity or Balanced depending on your risk appetite and with the 3 months horizon UITF would be the choice.

I got around 17% this year. Anyway, you have to know when to buy and sell.

If its for a gift, then i don't see why you can give her the UITF Equity Certificate as a gift...its as good as cash. Just tell her, that its better to redeem her gift when the navpu is high...coz if it is down...the value of her gift is smaller.

The only problem is that, if you placed the fund, you need to be the one to redeem it also.

^ Easy. Just tell her to command you to go to redeem NOW! when she wants it out of there. With the advice of course to time it when navpu is higher. But with anybody who tried this stuff--- it is counterintuitive. 3 mos. is too short a time.

can you enlighten me on this one, is it simply as if mataas yung navpu its safe to redeem your investment?..

From a recent experience, start her out with bond fund.

I have a client who placed her pension on a savings account and was complaining of the measly interest from the bank. She was enticed by her daughter to try MF and now her fund will theoretically yield more than 1% in less than a month. Now she wants to try Balanced fund but I am the one trying to convince her to stay with bond as with the recent stock performance.

Money market since most money market holdings are less than 1 year. If you go otherwise, you might run in the risk of losing your money when you need it. What we are after for is the time (you need the money in 3 months) not the return anyway.
