PNB Life’s Asian Summit is a single-pay peso-denominated ASIAN equity index-linked variable life insurance product maturing in 5 years, which grants you access to Asian capital markets without the need of personally managing the portfolio and at the same time gives you a life insurance protection higher than your investment capital while the policy is in forc

a lot of Insurance Companies are offering Asian equity mix....China/Indian Equities....Mining and Energy...Agriculture stocks

250 thousand single pay .....same bracket pala as
    (1) BPI-Philam's Max CHINDIA Fund.....
    (2) Philam Life's Asia's Best Fund
    (3) Insular Life's Greater China Fund

personally, I recommend caution putting your 200,000 plus in one go to these volatile Chinese/Asian capital markets...

just today, the PSE index drop to almost 3 percent at 2.67 % ending the market at its all low at 4096
the slump in the Chinese property and manufacturing stocks caused a slump across a wide swath of Asia-pacific capital marts

    see report:

  • Sunlife mutual fund invest and fly... Just invest 500,000 (5 years lock in) and get free ticket to Hong Kong.. :)

    Or

Sun Dollar Maximizer (US-China-Gold/Bond)   **limited offer only!
Sun Dollar Maximizer (US-China-Gold/Bond) or Sun Dollar Maximizer (UCG) is a “limited-offer” single premium protection and investment product that gives your client the opportunity to take advantage of the potential recovery of the US market, the strengthening economy of China, the steady increase in the value of Gold, and the safety net offered by US Treasuries -- all rolled into one great product!
It is a US dollar-denominated, investment-linked insurance product that matures after seven (7) years. The premiums paid shall be invested in a Structured Note linked to a diversified mix of global assets which may potentially increase the value of one’s investment while protecting the capital from losses.
Here are the distinct advantages of Sun Dollar Maximizer (UCG):
Exposure in a Diversified Mix of Global Assets
The premiums shall be invested in US and China-centric indices, a Gold Exchange-Traded Fund (Gold ETF), and a US government bond index, assets that have shown stronger potential for future growth and which may be difficult to invest in as an individual client.

    Guaranteed Life Insurance Coverage
Gives added financial security by protecting the life of the insured for the entire duration of the policy, with coverage amounting to at least 125% of the single payment. For policies issued under the Guaranteed Insurability Offer (GIO), the amount of coverage shall be limited to the fund value plus charges in case of the insured’s death within the first 2 years from policy effective date, except if due to accident.

    100% Capital Protection*
Assures that the single premium shall be returned in full at the end of the seven-year holding period, regardless of market performance.

*The guarantee on capital protection is dependent on the ability of the Note issuer to perform its obligations. Sun Dollar Maximizer (UCG)’s note is issued by Citigroup Funding Inc.

Unique "Best of Profile" Feature that Boosts Potential Returns
A first-of-its-kind in the market, the product boosts the returns of one’s investment because embedded in the product is the “best of profile, look-back” feature where the gains shall be based on the asset portfolio with the highest average quarterly performance after the seven-year period.

    Guaranteed Acceptance
Guarantees approval of the policy application up to a certain amount, age, and other limits under the guaranteed insurability offer, open even to selected non-Filipino citizens.

I think any additional returns will be the product of the highest recorded lock-in return and the participation rate of the note.

I am contemplating whether to invest in this (PNB Summit Select Fund 1) locked-in for 5 yrs or just open a 5 yr time deposit at Philippine Veterans Bank at 5.5% P.A. monthly interest out. Which one could give a higher return in 5 yrs?
