DIZ went down 6.42 percent.

Almost all stocks went down today.
As for mining, several factors occured today:

1. Gold went down in the afternoon.
2. China's numbers were low (huge importer of minerals)
3. Foreign stocks were also down.
4. Phils stocks went down.

I'm not a holder of mining stocks but i think those mentioned will explain the reason for the price drop of most of the stocks.

1. Asian Markets are down today, Dow Jones is down last friday with a huge loss.
2. In the early hours of trading, mining stocks went up, however since the prices of stocks in the PSE index were mostly down , pati early gainers nahatak na rin.
3. News about the protest of bishops and church officials regarding the mining EO. Maybe in one way, it affected the sentiments of the investors.

i hope this piece of advice of mine was heeded by most. nervous pa ang karamihan sa effect ng bagong labas na EO. uncertainty is in the air. but if you look at it really closer, pabor ang EO sa existing mining companies. as for LC, mpsa will be converted to ftaa and it can seek 25years of mine life according to the authorities. of course subject to constant review of contracts which is just moot and academic. once this fact is fully digested by the investing public and uncertainty dissipates, vrrooom na ulit ito. IMO

i hope this piece of advice of mine was heeded by most. nervous pa ang karamihan sa effect ng bagong labas na EO. uncertainty is in the air. but if you look at it really closer, pabor ang EO sa existing mining companies. as for LC, mpsa will be converted to ftaa and it can seek 25years of mine life according to the authorities. of course subject to constant review of contracts which is just moot and academic. once this fact is fully digested by the investing public and uncertainty dissipates, vrrooom na ulit ito. IMO

though mine shares now have been falling wedges we can look at it this way
1. 33 existing mines roughly 10% of the total companies are "operating"
2. these legitimate mines will have another upper hand as there is a freeze in the issuance of new contracts as well as possible explorations
3. operating mines such as Px, At, Nikl, ni, ore, etc..... will get bonus points as it usually takes 4-5 years to get a mine going + massive capitalization... thats 2 bonus points XD
4. miners with existing mpsa will glow as supply of approved areas to mine decreases
5. mergers, aquisitions and jvs will mostlikely be catalyzed, as well as other venture capitalist be more focused on these few more possible contracts.

citiris paribus..... subject for legislation consensus, etc...

on some other note...
i hope this hastens kalayaan integration, and the well capitlazied ones eyes be diverted back to our country.

baka wala ng nerbyos bukas mga tao and this will bounce na. Good candlestick for today. A hammer at the bottom of a downtrend and gap down. Although we need confirmation tomorrow by way of a gap up or green candle before we can say na nag reverse na siya. Caveat lang po. Lepadto bukas

“I asked the [Department of Environment and Natural Resources], the assent of local governments are needed [in the approval of mining contracts]. If they will not agree, the process will end there,” deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte said in an interview with radio dzRB.

Malacanang last week issued Executive Order 79, which provides that new legislation on revenue sharing should be passed before new mining agreements can be signed. However, the DENR may still grant and issue exploration permits under existing laws, rules and guidelines.

The new executive fiat also came with a reminder that national laws will prevail over local laws in case of a clash.

Section 12 directs that local ordinances be made consistent with the Constitution and national laws.

Environmentalists and mining stakeholders allege that this is a virtual warning that local officials should not pass ordinances that ban mining.

Davao City Vice Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, an Aquino ally, warned EO 79 will not work in the city. He said he will reject all mining applications in any part there.

Valte said, “Kapag tiningnan po natin ang EO 79, hindi dapat ganyan ka-drastic and response. Ang gusto lang naman po ng Pangulo ay magkaroon ng consistency between the national and the local government and in the framework of the EO, that is very possible.”

Based on my research sa project nila sa Kalayaan, sa company, sa iba forums and for very long term investment.. better to buy while di pa umaabot sa .1 cent...

I believe also that mining will do good sa Pinas as we have billion of dollars (or trillions) value ng natural resources...

LC - Last Chance

Last chance na ba to get out from LC for now? We don't have any news left for now to fuel the price to rise. This might test and visit its major support at the G.A.P?

I still believe that LC is a sleeping dragon. A mix of very good fundamentals and bad politics.

Sa mga ipit, I believe it will take patience and strategy to cut losses. As long as the GF deal exists, I'll always keep an eye on this stock. The moment this dragon wakes up, it will breathe out gold from its mines.
