Hi Ping,

My take on the huge volume of ALI is there is a change of hand on Deutsche, around 860M shares which composed of 91% of trading volume. I don't know how such thing happened but you can noticed that as well on other stocks (though not 860M shares). Maybe a mature trader can confirm this.

Not familiar with SURVEILLANCE INTERVENTION. I'm sorry. But I think other stocks has this status as well.

As far as fundamentals is concerned, MWC's a strong buy imo.

I hope I am correct with this definition on "bearish divergence"

- when the price makes a higher high, but RSI makes a lower high.

Regarding bearish divergence, I think you are correct Ping in the definition, However, I don't think it is applicable here on MWC. It is trading in consolidation. Bearish/Bullish divergence is applicable the most when stock is on major continuous rally. As they say, technical indicators doesn't work on consolidation.

Hope I am also correct on this. Haha

By the way, I have also MWC. We're all in this together. LOL

you might want to try bringing it up with the people at the speculation thread. a lot of people check that.
but it seems pretty simple and pangilinan is right on this one. if foreign investors are forced to divest their holdings, there's going to be massive selling pressure on the stock considering how much the company is traded or held by foreign entities. our index components are weighted in terms of market cap size. pldt has a huge market cap that accounts for probably at least three tenths of the entire index. that's why you'd read articles referring to the stock as an index heavyweight. now if that heavyweight gets dragged down, naturally the index value follows.

plus the fact that some foreign investors might be disenchanted by the prospect of such a degree of regulation in the philippine market that they might pull out of their other holdings or at least refrain from putting more money down on our market.

i don't think actively forcing investors out of the stock would do anyone any good. except for value investors waiting on the sidelines for bargains. the SC seems to forget how stock prices affect the companies involved operationally.

maybe TEL shouldn't be in the index. i know that that might sound absurd seeing as how PLDT is one of those flagship filipino companies but the weight issue is too much of a concern. the daily ups and downs of the index are so greatly influenced by that one particular stock that it might not be representative of the entire market anymore. that's the reason why AAPL isn't included in the DJIA.

from what i observed, this really has dragged our market index today.

personally, i do not like how the interpretation of rules suddenly changed. SC may be right on saying that capital stock involves only common shares (voting) and not includes preferred shares (non voting), but they should have made it clear before. as MVP said, it was valid before, why changed now?

well, i side with MVP on this one.

but on the positive note, more stocks will be on bargain if selling is to happen. i love to get TEL at 2000 level

do not be too alarm about the SC instruction to SEC about PLDT

this will be a long, long...... long drawn out court issue that will not be resolve with finality in years ahead.
