September 2012 update:
For about 3 years, I have received a small number of inquiries and requests for mentorship. I have considered this and I *might* pursue it next year (no definite date). Hindi biro ito, kailangan ng matinding commitment at oras, kaya pag iisipan ko ng mabuti, specially since balak ko ito gawin ng libre.

kung general question yan, well wala akong diretsong sagot jan.

unang una, hindi lahat ng traders gumagamit ng RSI.
secondly, bawat trader unqiue. therefore, iba iba ang gamit nila sa bawat bagay. no matter what, there will always be a difference (kahit konti konting diperensya)
thirdly, hindi extensive ang gamit & experience ko sa paggamit ng RSI.

ang alam ko na gamit ng RSI ay:
a. overbought/oversold (yang 30 at 70 level). yung iba, ibang level ang gamit, 80/20, yung iba naman 85/15. so depende talaga sa tao. may iba pa hindi yung mga extreme levels ang ginagamit (yung malapit sa 0 & 100, like those mentioned above), kundi yung 50 level; yung iba naman 55/45 levels ang gamit nila.

b. RSI used for divergence. this is what i do (not necessarily sa RSI). compare price & indicator divergence (pwedeng RSI, Stochastic, etc). kung may newer trader jan na hindi familiar sa divergence trading, check nyo to

c. trendline/TL breaks within RSI. tinatrato na parang price chart mismo, nagpa-plot ng Trendline within RSI. if the RSI TL breaks, they buy/sell accordingly.

ang RSI, pag maliit ang value na ginamit mo (RSI with value of 2 - 10+), mejo whippy yung RSI na lalabas. based on my experience, depende sa value na gagamitin, pwede mo gamitin ang RSI sa trending AND ranging markets.
personally, i have used RSI6, hindi siya masyado whippy, tama lang. (i trade M1-H4)
again,  u have to find out the value that suits your personality & tading style. &/or gamit kayo ng indicator na tugma sayo/comportable ka.

do u use RSI? how long have u used it?
TIP: sa kahit anong indicator na gagamitin mo, pag matagal mo na yan nagamit & inoobserbahan along with price, gamay mo na yan & may makikita kang pattern/s na ipoprouduce nung indicator.

Oks lang Sir Ferrari, gusto ko lang makakuha ng insight sayo para makakuha ako ng idea para sa trading ko. kasi naniniwala ako ng ang bawat trader may forte pero not one trader is perfect kaya best we share our knowledge. Malay natin may strategy ka pala na hindi ko pa naiisip na makakatulong sa trades at baka who knows meron din akong strategy you and others might find useful. So lets do some brainstorming.

So far ang basehan ko ng price movement is always on breakout. Price moves in one direction coz of successful breakouts until humina ang movement dahil na reach ang S&R.

Ganito Prob ko sa system. Since technician type trader ako, meron ako pinagawang custom made indicator, isa syang hybrid MAcd/momentum Mt4 indicator. nadidisplay nya convergence and divergence,  and possible turning point (reversals) or trend continuation.

Question, how do you validate kung tatagos ang price or mag brebreakout? paano approach mo? kasi usually minsan na fa-fakeout ako. do you use just price action or set of indicators?

Ang ginagawa ko minsan nagse-set ako ng several pips away from S or R and hope dumiretso.

halos 1am na. magcomment lang ako dun sa quote above. magbigay ako ng detailed post mamya/bukas.

u have to realize hindi S&R ang nagpapahinto or nagpapagalaw sa price. beneath S&R are orders, yung buying & selling (yung entries, stops, exits na pinapasa natin sa broker natin) --- eto ang nagpapagalaw sa price. ang orders invisible sa chart, pero nakikita natin sila or nagkakaidea tayo about them because we can see price & S&R. gets mo ba?
kumbaga sa kotse, ang orders ay gas. ang gas sa kotse, hindi natin nakikita per se, pero alam natin na andun siya & ito ang nagpapaakbo ng kotse.

price does not always stop when it hits/reaches an S/R. kung mapapansin mo, minsan "to the pip" ang hinto nya sa S/R (pero kadalasan temporary lang yang hinto nya na "to the pip"), or minsan magsi-zigzag siya sa S/R.

linawin ko lang.... tatagos at breakout , iisa lang ibig sabihin para sayo, tama?

validation ng breakout ay if the S/R sticks. meaning pagtagos sa S/R, price will stay above it (example natin ay upside breakout). minsan price stays at it.
example, price breaks above 1.4000. to confirm na breakout ito, dapat price will stay above 1.40, or maghohover siya around 1.40 (example, +/-10 to 20pips of 1.40, nagsizigzag lang siya sa 1.40).
usually pag fakeout, mag bebreakout siya tapos ilang candles lang babalik uli siya belwo the breakout point. pwede ka gumamit ng PA, indicator, or PA&indicator para mavalidate ang breakout.

ang isang tricky part jan ay kung anong timeframe ang tinetrade mo, ano trading style mo at kung kelan magtutuloy-tuloy yung breakout. kasi minsan, genuine breakout siya, pero magtatagal siya dun sa S/R na tinagusan nya (minutes, hours, days).
example, ang tinetrade mo is 15minute timeframe.
price broke above 1.40 on the M15. u are in that trade (long position). tapos price went back down & stayed at 1.40 range/zone (let's say 10-20pips above&below 1.40) for several M15 candles. ang tanong, iiwan mo bang open yung trade hanggang makitang mong umakyat uli yung price (since u expect price to move up... at based on your analysis this is a genuine breakout), or mageexit ka na dahil price stayed too long at 1.40?
dito papasok ang trading style mo, pati trade management mo.

for anyone unfamiliar...
eto ang patterns pag genuine breakout: (upside breakout uli example natin)
a. price breaks above 1.40, & NEVER touches/babalik sa 1.40 pagkatapos nya tumagos dito. price never looks back, ika nga. (strongest breakout)
b. price breaks above 1.40, then price babalik sa 1.40 (possibly touch it, or even break it) pero pansamantala lang at aakyat na uli ang price
c. price breaks above 1.40, then price babalik sa 1.40, tagos mag-stay siya sa 1.40 for quite some time, bago magcontinue sa breakout nya pataas.

Ang ginagawa ko minsan nagse-set ako ng several pips away from S or R and hope dumiretso.

ano sineset mo?
trailing stop? or stop loss?

for breakouts (& for general trading), IMHO, mas maganda namomonitor mo yung PA para mas maayos ang trade management mo. kasi minsan kahit mafake-out ka, at alert ka, pwede ka parin makasabay sa direction nung fakeout move.
of course, sa iba naman, mas konti ang trade intervention, mas ok sa kanila.

Ang price action kasi is not my favorite although sasabihin ko its the most accurate pero the hard part is the choppiness and very erratic zigzagging, usually i have to look at Higher TF na price action para ma smooth kung san patungo yung trend just to validate smaller PA kung itoy nasa S and R levels. Dati rati i trade without using any indicator just pure PA, S&R and time shifting method pero mas hiyang ko talaga may indi.

yung indicator is filter (Hodrick presscot) type Macd/momentum, pinagawa ko ito sa isang Russian magaling sa coding. lets say dito ako comfortable since it eliminates whipsaws and draws a more definitive signal. how much ko pinagawa? well...secret mura lang kasi naka discount ako haha.

yung tanong mo na ano sineset ko?
what i mean is, ang style ko para ma ensure its a potential breakout is naglalagay ako ng pending Stop order several pips above/below sa R/S levels. ginagawa ko ito para iwasan yung pag balik ng price sa loob.

minsan style ko din yung inside bar where i just wait for price to breakout sa last high or low ng Daily candle.

Yep matagal na rin ako dito, syempre naka monitor at paper trading, minsan kapag wlang magawa nagbabasa na lang dito sa forum.
