Rent a Gadget Business Idea Feasible ba?
« on: May 21, 2010, 05:12 PM »
Hi Guys,

Thanks,

Arvin

This is a very risky business with low income returns since customers get to pay for the rent but if there's any damage done (especially irrevocable/permanent) then you would lose a substantial amount coming out from you investment in your gadgets. By they way what kind of gadgets are planning to put up for rent? Photography? It's hard to implement your business' policies since we all know how our law officers implements it.

IMHO, The best way to make money is to franchise a business. Franchising a business will help lower the risk upon setting up your own money making entity. Check out http://phfranchise.com for a complete list of franchises in the Philippines. There are plenty of franchises to choose from in Philippine Franchise directory.

especially most gadgets are not that durable. take for example cameras, npt unless the customer will be able to pay-in a deposit amount, medj mataas nga po risk.

IMHO
the idea is good
but further study might be needed to make it feasible.

hello, this is a good idea actually
what if you make him sign a contract that states making him/her palitan ang gadget in case of breakage or pay for damages
would that be possible?

Good idea, but these have to be covered (things I've thought of):

- ano ang acceptable level ng "normal wear and tear" sa gadget? what are the steps kung sakaling ang wear and tear is not acceptable? pwede kasi na yung last user ang makasira sa gadget kahit napakaingat ng user na ito - and that could still be part of "normal wear and tear"
- ano ang pangcollateral nila sa gadget? income requirement ng hihiram? there has to be these requirements para siguradong maibabalik ang gadget
- you always have to invest in new gadgets. Expect that the wear and tear on the gadget will be worse than those sold by second hand owners.
- another thing to note, probably direct competition mo rin ang mga nagbebenta ng second hand. Mura din kasi ang mga yun.

The idea may be new here sa country, but in New York, meron nang gumagawa nito. Try mo kayang i-study ang model nila: http://snapgoods.com/

The question is actually aimed kay TS/owner.
