My sis and i are going to expand our Ukay-ukay business once we get payment from PDIC (deposit insurance). We will not be using banks anymore but all funds will be put in business.
I just hope PDIC pays up soon.

i understand becouse you have family here to help.i dont i have a wife pinoy and she is happy comeing to uk to work. after she now understands what your goverment is really like it has opened her eyes wide. ok it wont be as warm there in uk. but we can buy a home maybe have child that i will never in million years let live in philippines.i will never send keep or invest here in anythink to help this goverment with money comeing into this country ever .and i will do my best in uk to put others off comeing here.

Hello to all! i'm new here, but came across this topic doing a search on ukay ukay in the Philippines. For those intending to start sa ganitong business eto ang ilang suggestion ko:

- bambang is the place to go when buying the bales. don't go for the boxes, mas better you buy yung mga naka-bundle na i.e. sa isang bale pareho blouse or pants or shorts. the bambang wholesalers are usually reliable and their quality is better than those coming from Cebu.

- kung small lang ang store space mo, plan ahead kung ano ang kukunin mo na bale. usually, the more of one category of items u have, the better. e.g. kung madami ka blouse, mas madami napagpipilian, mas matagal ang customer sa loob ng store, greater chance na may mabibili. ang common combination is to display blouses, shorts, and kids wear.

- pagkabukas mo ng bale, segregate the items further. e.g. pag-open mo sa bale ng shorts maybe you can separate the six pocket from the regular walking shorts and the pambargain na items na. price those segregated items differently: mas mataas ang six pocket, regular pricing ang regular walking shorts, bargain na talaga (e.g. 3 for 100) for the rest.

- tapos pag medyo tumagal na ang display mo, you can drop your prices. yung dating 120, gawin mo nang 60 it's up to you. kasi pag napilian na talaga ang display, mahirap na i-move ang items at the original pricing. at some point, u will realize when to do this. also u have to understand that at some point kung luma na display mo, mas benefit sayo na madispose mo yung luma para ma free-up ang space mo to display new items.

- usually, sa pricing ng items take into account na tatawad ang customer. e.g. blouse 60 / last price 50; pedal or capri 120 / last price 100. yung presyo na pagtumawad ang customer hindi na butal para madali din magsukli.

- here's an example of blouse pricing: pag-open ng bale lahat yan i-display P80 per piece ang benta. after 10 days (although it's up to you kung how long til u drop the price) kung ano pa ang natira, 3 for 100 na. when you open your next bale of blouses, kung may natira pa dun sa previous bale bigay mo na ng P20 per piece / tawad na sa 3 for 50.

- here are some initial codings for your reference: shorts - 'ontx', 'california star' / blouses or ladies t-shirt - meron yan iba iba pero 'ontx' usually ang ok / ladies tank tops - ang coding ay ltt meron ontx at iba pang codes

- observe also kung ano ang medyo uso: try boxer shorts, yung mga daster na pambahay. meron din boys t-shirt which usually sells fast because of their small sizes ... sakto sa filipino build. sa pambata or kids wear iba-iba ang coding but go for those that come from japan/korea kasi yung ang mga maliliit.

Pero sa kids wear i suggest get the 100kg bales, mas cost efficient (e.g. sa pambata na 100kg ang labas ay
- IMO, these are the better moving items: ladies t-shirt or blouse, shorts (six pocket and walking shorts), boxer shorts, pedal or capri pants, children's wear. Again if you have a small space, pagisipan mabuti kung ano idisplay mo.

Nagtatrabaho ang wife ko sa London,UK.May ukay2x din pala dun.Sabi niya ang shirts na branded tulad ng nike ay 1pound(php78.00) lang.Nike shoes 10-15 pounds(php780.00-1170.00) lang.Mukhang bago daw,Marami pang brand na pigpipilian.Naisip ko tuloy na mgbisnis nito sa atin.Plan ko gawin ko siyang boutique kasi ok naman ang condition. maricrispy di ko alam kung maniniwala ako sayo ksi naka kuha na ako ng ukay ukay kay cabbysmile at so far ok nman yung nakukuha kong mga items sa kanya.check mo yung website nya at pra mapuntahan mo yung shop nya sa angono at saka may iba naring mga member dito sa forum na naka kuha na sa kanya at wla nmang negative feedback.
