I really like to know where they invest thier money...

winning edge is in standard n poor index w/c probably is going down,
prestige++ in global index where as not down like s&p but still down...

I'd like to know if it is local, so would I know if it is worth investing...

pag sinabi bang invest sa emerging market, walang chances na bumagsak. di ba lahat affected ngayon. tanong lang po

kasi pag may bumabagsak may tumataas.. hindi ko sinabing ngayon na tataas ha.. hindi kc pdeng lahat bumagsak in the long term ibang usapan na yun.. it's either war or end of the world na yun..

since ang US ngayon ang bumabagsak at tingin ko matagal pa bago makaahon.. siempre merong economy na aangat dyan kasi simple lang naman eh.. kung hindi sa US ngayon papasok ang pera siempre sa iba yan papasok at ito yung emerging markets.. (e.g. asia, europe etc.)

I don't think S&P index is considered as an "emerging market"... matagal na tong index na toh..

Still, anyone know where AXA invest thier lock and loaded?

Good Day!!

ianiii -- S&P has various indices. On Winning Edge, Philamlife have chosen S&P BRIC 40 (Brazil, Russia, India, China). This index is composed of top 40 picks from these countries. You can check also www.standardandpoors.com..

Everything is going down. Some see it as fear, some see it as an opportunity to grab, taking for instance the optimism of Warren Buffett, world's number one billionaire, on the economy over a period of time.

Yeah I know... How about AXA? They say it's in Gov't Bonds...

I suggest anyone doing business with AXA be very careful. I have health insurance with them. The biggest mistake of my life. They will use evey subterfuse to delay payment or authorize treatment. I have a whole list of examples.
You have been warned.

DONT INVEST ON Philippine AXA Products kasi its NOT PROFITABLE!!! ang nagsasabi lang na ok yan ay yung mga agents.. ask them for proof kung sila mismo ay bumili ng products nila at sasabihin  nila ay hindi..kung meron man ay konti lang para wag lang na masabi na di sila bumili..TAKE NOTE kung talagang profitable yang mga products na yan dapat they ARE WILLING to  invest a huge amount of their own money to buy their products di ba? hehe

Insurance Companies invest pooled money to Bonds.. I suggest invest directly to bonds (global, sovereign, corporate bonds) or T-Bills and eliminate the "middleman" that is the insurance companies...

Ang style kasi ng insurance company example they invest pooled  money in bonds with coupon of 8% per annum and they take out 7% para sa kanila at 1% lang ibibigay sa kliyente!  Tapos meron pa sila service charge on top of the 7%! tapos magtataka client  bakit ganun 1% lang kita , at ang immediate na sagot ng insurance ay "down ang market" ...Eliminate the middleman and get the whole 8% interest!   Tama ba ako? hehehe

I'm afraid not hahaha

Are you talking about VUL funds? In which case, its more like 1-2.5%
regardless if the fund earned or not.

If you're talking about the insurance component mismo, you seem
to look at only one side of the coin so to speak

The insurance company's job is not to invest your money in your
behalf but to provide well, insurance hehehe

You cannot eliminate the middleman here because you'd need
a middleman or it wouldn't work.

Basically, they collect premiums from policy holders and then invest
those premiums and pay out any benefit due to policy holders.

So they earn two ways, underwriting profit, this is Premiums Collected
less Benefits paid. If their underwriting process is good, only say 1
out of 1 million die, otherwise, lugi sila hehe

The other one is the investing income, or the float.. yun yung nabasa
kong term ni buffet eh. Not sure if its official.
Eto yung invest income galing sa premiums.

Sa traditional insurance, I don't think ang investment income lang
ang basehan ng dividends.
I think their underwriting performance is also a factor.
So for example, they expected they have to pay out on 5 policies
pero 2 lang ang na deads na insured, may kita na sila dun.

Again, insurance is different from investment.

Although, if you are just talking about the VUL funds,
then that means your against MF and UITFs too?

Can't say your wrong there, but if one has no time, no inclination
to learn, then MF/UITF/VUL are a God Send
