 .. I'm down about 200 points. This makes me feel like I'm walking among giants. Gonna make some adjustments over the weekend. Hope i'll be able to give you guys a bit of a chalenge this coming weeks.

Kept trying to re-login and got "invalid account" or "no connection."

So far, i'd like to ask all the traders style of trading?
mine is much more waiting for a trend to develop looking at 3 different timeframes 1hr,4hr, and 1 day.

I registered for a new demo account at Alpari.

Can I offer a suggestion? Instead of having one deadline, how about giving people, say, 20 or 30 trading days to complete the challlenge? This way, the late-comers can be accommodated on the same equitable terms as the rest. May deadline na lang siguro for the challenge to be over by a certain date. Saka sana, same starting equity ($5K) for simplicity's sake.

I have a question, how does trailing stop actually work in metatrader? Let's say I set my trailing stop at 25 pips. Every 25 pip movement to my direction, igagalaw nya yung stop ko by 25 pips, tama ba? Nalilito kasi ako. I had this trade, I set my trailing stop as 50 pips. Then when I checked my account history, hindi divisible by 50 yung profit.

  Hi Lightwind_99! The style im using is trend continuation. I only look at the 15 minute timeframe to enter and exit trades. I look at the daily just to get a bigger picture, although it has very little weight on my decisions.

Hi prospera! That would be a good idea, but since we have already started and finalized the conditions, it would be unfair to the other participants. Anyway its easy to compute the % in acct growth in terms of the equity. Although I think it's a bit unfair coz fxgypsy and I only need to get smaller pips to get a higher acct growth, especially since we're all using minilots. .. But let's hear the opinions of the rest of the group on these things.

Hi 2mbaga! In metatrader, for example if you set your trailing stop by 25 pips, when you get a profit of 25 pips/higher, your SL will be automatically moved so that it will have a distance of 25 pips from the price. If your profit goes to 26 pips. Your SL will be moved 25 pips from the current price. It will only be moved when your profit is increasing. But when your profit decreases, the SL will not be moved back. So if your profit goes down to 20 pips, your SL will not move. The SL will only move again when your highest profit is exceeded. For example if it goes up to 27 pips, then your SL will again be moved to 25 pips from the current price.

^yun pala yung mali ko sa pagkakaintindi. From the current price pala ibinabawas. Akala ko dinadagdag yung value na nilagay ko dun sa previous stop ko everytime the trade goes my way by the same pips I specified.

which do you prefer: automatic trailing stop, moving your stops manually or just ur TP target?

I like doing it manually if I am in front of the computer watching the market. Pero syempre pag matutulog or lalabas ako, lalagyan ko na ng stop tsaka limit.

more on swing trading ka ba? day trader ako. I prefer manual exits when needed, TP and moving my stops.
