  • Until now AFPSLAI is still solvent. They just reduced the max amt of their CCA last year for the asso member to 1M. Regular members can stll avail the ceiling which is 3Million.
    Maganda pa rin, kasi the dividend is still higher than the commercial banks.
    Tapos, pwede magwithdraw maski 500k kung kailangan mo ang funds.
    At present, hindi ko na pinapagalaw ang funds ko doon, so it could compound interests.

  • My father retired from AFP just last year, I am not sure if he was a member but let's assume he is not.
    Is there a way I can open an acct at AFPSLAI? What documents do I need to bring?
    I prefer not to be accompanied by my father due to some family issues.

  •  :yoohoo:I am a regular member of AFPSLAI (former soldier and served for 16 years honorably discharged).

    As had been discussed they ares giving 15 % interest quarterly (even higher before it was regulated by BSP). Last year, Capital Contribution Account (CCA) ceiling were reduced P5M to P3M for regular members and P1M for associate members.

    As to deposits, maximum allowed quarterly CCA deposit is P30K less interest earned in the previous quarter (e.g. you earned P3T in the previous quarter, you can only deposit P27T on the incoming quarter.

    alias - You don't need to know somebody in AFPSLAI to process claims. We, members are paying all the employees of the association to do their job. Ipakita mong isa sa me ari ang daddy mo (SLN) and he is entitled to all his rights and benefits. You ask anyone kung meron kang hindi alam. Anyway OTAG stands for Office of the Adjutant General. Maraming tao sa loob ng kampo. Walang masama kung magtanong ka.

  • my husband has an existing savings account with AFSLAI. however he went AWOL because he was accepted on an overseas job.

    nowI want to deposit to his existing account kasi nga mataas ang interest rate. but natatakot kaming baka ma hold if ever kasi nga AWOL sya eh di sayang naman yung i dedeposit namin. Is that possible? Would they check on that and can they freeze an account kung AWOL?

  • arielle_exchange, I believe AWOL has nothing to do with your husbands membership with AFPSLAI. It has its own personality than the Armed Forces of the Philippines, therefore being a member entitles him to all the rights and benefits.

    There's nothing to lose if you inquire at Corporate Affairs Office.

    I resigned back in 1990 and I have past due loans. Lately, nag inquire ako at member pa rin ako kaya itinutuloy ko ngayon pag save rather than in banks. Yun nga lang limited na sa 30K pwede ideposit sa Capital Contribution Account (CCA) less previous dividends.

    Kung meron siya savings account, entitled din siya magkaroon ng CCA at pwede ka rin mag apply as associate member para lumaki chances ninyo makapag save.

    Ipa update mo passbook niya baka malaki na kinita noon, tapos ituloy nyo mga transactions. We are lucky to have this institution.

    naka pag update ako last month and malaki nga ang interest however since wala na syang monthly salary, stopped na din yung automatic contri nya. that's why interested kami to make additional deposits

    you mean pwede rin akong mag open as an associate member? won't they look for some sort of id? I have an Officer Dependent's ID kaya lang expired na last 2005 pa. sayang nga kasi wala akong time mag renew before he did AWOL last year :bored:

    Now if pwede akong mag open, can I do it without the presence of my husband? kasi nga he's overseas. I have though his AFSLAI ID. tnx

  • You can still deposit in your husband's account (ceiling is P30K per quarter) and also open an account for yourself as an associate member.

    They have a website where you can obtain further information to include branches nearest and convenient for you.

    Since you've got his AFPSLAI ID, then you can even do transactions in his account (i.e. he has to have a withdrawal form duly signed by him in case of withdrawals.

    thanks sir! that's exactly what i did. it wasn't easy but at least may progress ako. i had to get documents from other parts of the camp, AT napakalaking kampo pala nun lalo na pag wala kang sasakyan. Some of the people where helpful enough though most of them do not look like they like their jobs. mabuti nalang ako ang nagaasikaso kasi nakakaawa talaga yung mga widow na nag pprocess dun, na kung san san lang nila pinapasa, at pinaghihintay. I am still in the process of trying to claim for my mom. Hopefully before the death anniversary of my dad tapos na to.

  • Have patience hijo, matatapos din yan. Kung gusto mo ma expedite, merong mga nag-aasikaso dyan kaso lagi sila humihingi ng panggasolina. Kaya mabuti pa ikaw na lang mag-asikaso.

    Dati merong jeep na umiikot dyan sa kampo, service para sa lahat yun at libre sumakay. Umiikot lang yun sa buong Camp Aguinaldo or pag me pupuntahan ka at me dumadaang military jeep ay sumenyas ka ng "HITCH", pag on the way nila puntahan mo isasakay ka nila.

    Mag apply ka na ring associate member ng AFPSLAI.

  • Huh, wait, I have an account at AFPSLAI, I didn't know there's a difference between CCI and regular savings account! And as far as I know, I can deposit anytime, the thing is the cutoff (could be the Oct1-3 as specified by Arielle) that will determine what amount will be included in computing the dividends. Can someone explain it further to me? No wonder whenever I ask my dad to deposit for me, he would specify certain dates also, but whenever I go deposit on another day they accept my deposit naman.  :scratch:
    I want, I get!

  • @bluegenes Attention is invited on their website  www.afpslai.com.ph/  Placement dates quarterly are posted i.e. for CCA to participate in dividends for the current quarter (declared at 3.75% a qtr or 15% p.a.). A member can deposit only up to P30T/qtr and there is also a maximum ceiling a member can deposit on CCA i.e. P3M for a regular member and P1M for associate members.

    Savings account is different from CCA and it earns I think at 4% p.a. (still higher than commercial banks). No ceiling on this account and you can deposit anytime at your convenience.

    @arielle_xchange Expired dependents ID does'nt matter. Issue at hand is his membership, therefore you are entitled to be an associate member and you can present any other legitimate ID (identification purposes only).

    I have resigned from the service since 1990 when I decided to be deployed as  OFW. Lucky I did not terminated my membership and I still enjoy the benefits being a regular member.
