ATM limits
« on: Feb 06, 2008, 09:42 AM »
Hi All,

Recently BPI limited  ATM withdrawal (for at least foreign cirrus cards)  to 5 000 pesos (before 10 000 pesos)  >:( . If 3 withdrawals a day are allowed the day limit is reduced from 30 000 to 15 000 pesos. Very inconvenient and costly also because of the charges by the home bank. And this happened without any announcement.

Is this going to happen with all ATM? ? What are the ATM limits at other banks?

:thankyou: in advance for your contribution to this topic

Kasama kaya sila?

the maximum ATM withdrawal limit for Citibank before was $ 3,000.xx and its peso equivalent of Php 150,000.xx

Now, with the devaluation of the USD, i dunno if it's still Php 150K or lowered to Php 120K. this limit is withdrawable at any and all ATM branches in the Philippines whether Megalink, Bancnet, Expressnet, etc. and there are no interconnection charges and other fees whatsoever. (USD is only withdrawable at Citibank ATMs)

Kakatanong ko lang kanina.

5k per withdrawal sa BPI, maximum of 4 withdrawals a day
4k per withdrawal sa Metrobank, maximum of 5 a day.

True, thats really inconvenient, pera natin yun, nakikinabang na nga sila sa pera natin...Imagine how much income they could generate with the ne limit, if its really the case.

Oo nga eh. Nagwithdraw ako sa BPI from my Unionbank EON card ng 20K. So 5 withdrawals na 12 pesos each and bawas.

sa BPI ATM naman po, if you're a Preferred Banking client (gold card ATM), maximum withdrawal limit is Php 50K per day.

tip lang po: if you need a limit of 50K instead of the usual 20K, you can write a request letter and justify your reasons and have the branch manager endorse it. if it gets approved, they will electronically upgrade your card but you will still have the blue card ATM.  :cool2:

Dutch_Boy, actually ang issue dito, is yung pag-lilimit ng withdrawals ng mga bank using ATM cards of banks other than theirs.

thanks for the clarification maam biske. for the citibank ATM card, your withdrawable limit per day is still Php 150K, whatever ATM bank in the Philippines you withdraw from (maski na Rural Bank of Tawi-Tawi, BPI or Metrobank :D ), no charges whatsoever. i think ito ang isa sa mga marketing come-ons ng Citi.

Talaga? Hanggang ngayon?

yes maam, just withdrew Php 80 K a few days ago.  :cool2:

even if you ask the Branch Manager, they would'nt know na pwede pala yun. BPI ATMs are being maintained and computer programmed not by the branch but by another BPI subsidiary. tell them to confirm with BOMC para maniwala.

exceptional case talaga ang Citibank. sila lang ang walang transaction charges sa kahit anong bank. kasi nga naman ang minimum opening ng account jan eh in the hundreds of thousands...

but its true, sa lahat ng mga banks ko, ito ang naexperience ko, esp. nung christmas season.. dati nag-withdraw ako from bdo atm machine using a bpi atm, P5k lang per transaction... imbyerna talaga, nag-tie up tie-up pa sila ganun din pala, ang laki ng nananakaw nila sa atin.. ang haba-haba na ng pila sa ATMs, tapos limited pa ang withdrawable amount. may times pa na ineexclude nila ang card na hindi nila issued, atleast ganito noong pasko. dapat sa bank mo ikaw magwithdraw para siguradong may mapapala ka sa pagpila, at walang charge.

not necessarily sir, pwede kayo mag open sa subsidiary nila, sa Citibank Savings, Inc. for a much lower minimum opening balance. kung may malapit na branch sa inyo, this serves as a very convenient "working" account for your short-term funds.

but invest your long-term funds elsewhere, hehehe ...
