whoa, thanks FG!!! Have been waiting for that for a long time.

First post ko rin dito sa rat race thread. believe me, I want to get out of it ASAP. Simply because it is exhausting. the structure milks you off your juices till your dried up.

I am not scared of "mabobobo" ka kung you end up owning most of your time unless makitid ang definition mo ng intelligence.

hanggang ngayon nag-iisip pa din ako ng negosyo. di ko pa din alam san magsisimula.

This is my first post and I want it in this thread coz its my ultimate purpose also to get out of the so called "rat-race."  Im not yet out but I keep on trying.  You know guys, as i am experiencing its a very hard process to undergo---to really get out of this race.  Sometimes, I am asking myself if is it really this hard to the point that I am losing some friends coz we have different views in life, now.  I cannot go out with them regularly as before since I have to control my spending and put some money for investment.  Also my family doesn't buy the idea of establishing my own business, so whenever I start planning, there they are pointing that things will go wrong.  Right now, it seems these people are correct, I lost a couple of businesses, and incurred paper losses in some of my investment.  Did you guys experienced the same situation?  How did you manage?

trader69,
I think you just need a new set of friends...with inclinations towards investing...like us guys here at PMT!!!

As to business set backs, in my first manufacturing venture, I launched thirty products( some of which I made prototypes in my garage). Twenty five failed or underperformed. Of the five remaining ones, two outsold all foreign competition nationwide. It reached a point that the biggest mutinational competition wanted to buy it. So keep trying, if your heart is really into it.

greenh99,

thanks for your kind words. But I did have a hidden lesson there...and that is not to let money change the way you live. Don't let it rule your world. 'Money is a good servant, but a terrible master'.

Your lesson is not lost to me, richbpulubi!  Rest assured that this will stay WHEN I get out of the rat race :thankyou:

I'm still in the process of getting out of the RAT-RACE. I have Rental Properties, 60 tenants already, malapit ng magbukas laundry shop ko and Hot Items Business.

Condo, makakagulo lang sa focus mo ang pagbubukas ng laundry shop, ipasa mo na lang sa akin, commission basis ka na lang...(LOL)  :D

Nice thread! I like the debates here.  :D

@richpulubi, nice insights!

i think maintaining your job while establishing passive sources of income is ideal. but there's also the side that says completely jumping out (assuming you have enough capital already), and finding your niche/business is the way to go. firstly, there's no division of attention; all out on the venture you want to try out. second, when you're out of work, it would seem like you don't have a choice but to make sure that the opportunities you have at hand, works! (much like what condo is doing right now)

as for loving to be employed, i agree that there's nothing wrong with that. maybe to test yourself, try to take a two-week leave and see if you miss what you do. ika nga, find a work that you love and you'll never have to work a day in your life.

bottomline is, pursue what makes you happy, not the paycheck.

Sir Condo, did you attend the workshop conducted by "think rich pinoy" team?  Ok bang starting point yong seminar nila for an aspirant real estate investor?

In my case, im really struggling to get out of the ratrace and medyo late nako start kasi daming obligation sa family.  Buti ngayon medyo maluwag na.  After graduation, naging bread winner ako kagad, laking responsibilty.  Im thinking the way Larry is suggesting sa think rich pinoy. thnks a lot.  Right now i placed my money in MF, pension, insurance and i trade sa PSE kso bagsak market ngayon.  So im thinking, to go business kaso ala pa maisip na very feasible.   :help:

San Laundry shop mo? visit ako. ooops para di OT, share konti.

Manila and Cavite branches. I have 6 branches.

Para di OT, mahirap pa sa rat-race ang napagdaanan ko dati...
