Do they really think we’re that stupid?

Got this email today. It’s obviously a scam targeting the greediest of all greedy ginks.

Does “Cheryl” really think we’d believe that she can double our money if we sent her $30? That e-Bullion has a flaw in the system that will let you “rob” them? And that, uh-huh, you can get away with it?

Sure, there are thousands (probably millions) who’d fall for this, but don’t be one of them!

Here’s a copy of the email:

Subject: Bug in E-bullion system – double your money in seconds

Hi. I am college student from California.
I found a bug in E-bullion system, which allows you to double your e-bullion deposit in seconds!
The bug is in the special administration account, all transfers sent to that account are not withdrawn from your account,
but paid back to you instead.
Please send me $30 E-bullion currency to my account C60616, and write your email in the memo field. I’ll send you the instructions by email.

What I wrote is true, it really works! Use the loophole before they find it.

Cheryl.

Yeah right, if this really works, why don’t you just send us the instructions then we do it ourselves?

Actually even if this works, E-bullion is not dumb enough not to notice discrepancies. Sooner or later they will reverse the transaction and your account (and all funds in it) will be kept on hold!

If you’re interested to trace the sender, here’s the email’s header information:
