Philippine Economic Briefing schedules

Last week, we received an email from Mr. Claro Fernandez of the Investor Relations Office (IRO) of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) requesting us to help promote the upcoming economic roadshows of the Philippine Economic Team.

The Economic Team, led by the Secretary of Finance, is comprised of the Secretaries of Budget, Trade and Industry, Agriculture and Energy departments and the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA).

We show our support for this endeavor by inviting PMT readers to attend these roadshows.

What the Roadshow is about

This roadshow will allow the economic agencies and the BSP to convey their respective plans for the remaining 6 months of the Arroyo administration. The idea is to give the business community a clearer picture of what to expect from the Economic Team in the coming months.

For the areas in Luzon, this will include the reconstruction efforts to be outlines by the DOF Secretary, who leads the Reconstruction Commission. We believe that this briefing would help the business sector, especially those outside Metro Manila, as they will be able to interact with the Economic Team directly.

For the first Briefing in Dagupan Thursday next week, Secretary Margarito Teves and Budget Undersecretary Laura Pascua have confirmed. The regional representatives of the various economic teams have also confirmed.
