Want a piece of Michael Jackson? Neverland is to be auctioned

The Neverland Valley Ranch property of Michael Jackson is to be foreclosed and sold to the public unless the King of Pop pays the balance of $24.5 million he still owes on the property.

A San Francisco-based title company confirmed the auction date on March 19.

If Jackson fails to pay the outstanding balance, Neverland would be sold to the highest bidder at a public auction on the courthouse steps. The initial asking price could be higher than the $24.5 million Jackson owes because of interest due and other costs.

Also going up for sale would be all the home’s furnishings and items on the property.

Neverland is a developed property in Santa Barbara County, California which operated as Jackson’s private amusement park and home starting in 1988. The property is over 2,800 acres in size and contains, among other things, a zoo and a theme park with a Ferris wheel, merry-go-round, zipper, spider, sea dragon, wave swinger, super slide, dragon wagon kiddie roller coaster, and bumper cars.
