But I personally think the number of crimes that are being done in broad daylight and without fear of being apprehended are alarmingly on the rise. Might be the Christmas factor ("kelangang dumilhensiya para sa Pasko"), I don't know. As I mentioned in the story above, I saw the suspect merely walk very calmly towards the center island. He stayed there, eyeing a new victim. I don't think he was afraid of being caught. Probably he was sure he won't be caught. Tsk, tsk.. What the government needs to do is install more policemen in dangerous streets such as these and put up additional mini-police or <i>tanod</i> offices so as to discourage criminals and to give people easy access where they can report crimes. The assholes ran underneath the bridge where a squatter colony is. When the cop followed, some of the crooks blocked his way and tried to ambush him with knives. Luckily, he shot and killed 4 of the guys. One of the dead gangsters' moms, when interviewed was only mad that her son died. She was not sorry at all for the deaths.
