Hi Fe, you need to drop by your BPI branch of account and tell them you want to apply for BPI Express Online. They'll know what to do.

Or you can visit the BPI EOL website and do you your application there: www.bpiexpressonline.com

^ Exactly my concerns, Sue. It's supposed to be "online" banking, so majority of the bank transactions should be possible without having to visit the bank. When I was staying in Korea, I only use my Korean bank's online banking facility to do all of my banking transactions. I visited the bank very rarely (and that's because I had to send overseas remittances and I can't do it online because of the sending limit that banks impose).

I use BPI expressonline for my own business, I recently had to make a bpi express cash card since the account is in my husbands name and he's really mad whenever i keep his atm. I tried enrolling the cash card with the account and sent via courier the necessary documents. I received email that they were requesting my husband to drop by our branch which is in Divisoria(we live in Novaliches). My husband got so pissed off and answered the email angrily informing them that he almost always work 7 days a week, 6:45am till 11pm, and thank you very much for a very good service! Lo and behold, an apologetic email was received and the cash card was enrolled a day after! Ha ha ha!

Sometimes kahit sundin mo na ang instructions nila, they tends to request so much pa din! Tinawag pang internet banking kung papupuntahin ka din sa branch mo! Buti sana kung like BDO na after office hours bukas pa rin.

True, I know those online banking functions are already being implemented in other countries. I think the Philippine online banking industry is still in its infancy and is learning bit by bit on how to improve this online service more. The key is to have an integrated banking system so that intra- and inter-bank transactions are made faster and costs are made cheaper. Unfortunately, Philippine banks seem to dislike the idea and are more into pursuing their own system rather than integrating theirs with other bank's.

Hi,
I always visit this site but this is my first time to post a reply. Anyway, all your suggestions are already being implemented in banks here in Japan. Here, funds are transfered instantly (if you transfer funds before 3:00PM). They also have an option where when you input the bank name/branch & account #, the account name immediately appears. This is to make sure that you are transferring your fund to the intended recipient. You can also set your account to transfer a certain amount to a registered recipient at a specific date. And the best part is: you don't even have to visit the bank to open an account and there's no maintaining balance! The worst part: interest rate is very low!!!

@Ruth, I've notified BPI about that since last year but until now, time deposit email notifications still arrive late. Tsk, tsk.

@Felipe, yup to each, his own. Probably it would be better if BPI can offer an option to activate/deactivate that function to its online users. The default can be the one existing right now. But for those who want to make an online third party transfer without the need to pre-register the account, they can request for that in their branch of account or via phone banking.

I just don't like the idea that I'm supposedly using an online banking facility and yet I can't do everything online. I always have to go to my branch of account first. Equitable PCI and UnionBank's online banking facility both have this feature so I think it's possible for BPI to allow this too.

I don't agree with your first suggestion, i.e. ability to make fund transfer to a third party account without having to pre-register in a BPI branch. I think that's too much of a security risk.

Yes, that feature is very helpful. I have had bad experiences in the Direct Time Deposit, too. The expiry notice comes after the fact!
