Pinoys earning online: What maria learned about Paid-To Programs

I regularly search the internet for online opportunities available for Filipinos. And I usually came across “paid-to programs” that supposedly pay you to do various things like read emails, visit websites, click links, participate in surveys, post in forums or simply sign-up for an account. I am would be wary at first but would be optimistic and sign-up upon getting referrals from fellow Filipinos. E-mails and surveys would come and I am happy to do my part. But soon the e-mails and survey stopped coming despite my constant profile updates. My inquiries were left unanswered. And there seemed to be a problem accessing the sites. I’ve realized that this is how these programs work. They started as legit sites promptly paying their first few members their dues and closed shop after some time leaving newer members unpaid.
“I’m so proud of my site I’m gonna wear it”

Here’s one for the geek or the uber-vain: Alexa t-shirts that proudly parade your site’s traffic stats and info.
Alexa.com, a site that provides web traffic information of a site, ties up with Zazzle to bring you the Alexa T-shirt which you can customize to show either your site’s traffic reach or ranking. The shirts come in various colors and sizes, and are priced starting at $14.95 each.
Here’s how the Pinoy Money Talk t-shirt looks like.

Pinoys earning online: No more HYIP for jrb

Been hounding the internet for money-making schemes since 2002. Lost thousands in HYIP (High Yield Investment Programs), actually hundreds of thousands. But a lot of hard lessons learned there. My advice for newbies: NEVER go there. Instead, spend your money studying internet/affiliate marketing rather than putting your money on ponzi schemes. They are never the "investments" that you perceive them to be.
I never gave up because I knew millions could be made compared to the thousands lost. Now I earn about $1K+ a week. From what? A combination of freelancing, outsourcing, adsense and affiliate income. There are a LOT of genuine opportunities out there. The problem is that it usually takes years to distinguish the diamonds from the ordinary rocks.
You have made money from Text Link Ads this month!
March 27, 2007
Got this email message from Text Link Ads (TLA) two days ago. I logged in to my TLA account and saw that a month after I placed TLA ads on the site (around mid-February 2007), I've already earned $70. Nice complement to my Google Adsense earnings.

Pinoys earning online: ingenieure and her writing gigs

Winning entry of ingenieure in the "How Pinoys earn money online contest":

As a child I was always told that money does not come from trees. While that may be true, I realized an even more comforting thing: money can come from websites.
People always ask me: "What's your job?" And though I never really had something concrete to say, I find myself able to sustain myself through my online earnings, mainly as an SEO content writer. I am a pure Internet worker at the moment, and I am proud to be one. When I tell them what I do, they often do a double take and could not believe their ears that the avenue most people my age normally use for Friendster and other social functions is already something with which I get most of my subsistence for living.
How to get RegisterFly Authorization Codes
March 24, 2007
To fully transfer a domain out of RegisterFly, you need to have an Authorization Code. This is a mixture of letters and number and is different for every domain. Here's a sample from one of my domains:
