Filipinos more interested in “sex” than “money” (Part 2)

The Hypothesis
Use search terms other than “money” in our preceding “sex-vs.-money” Google search analysis and results would have been different.

The Experiment
In Google Trends (www.google.com/trends), compare the number of Philippine-based searches of the term “sex” with business- and income-related keywords aside from “money” such as “earn online,” “make money online,” “internet income,” “online job,” and “online business.”
The Results
Each of the five terms — “earn online,” “make money online,” “internet income,” “online job,” and “online business” — does not have “enough search volume to show graphs.” In other words, Google Trends is unable create trend graphs because in the Philippines, very few searches of those keywords were made.

Compare this with the search volume of the terms “sex,” “porn, and “free porn” below.
If there were not enough search volume for the five keywords above but there’s a search volume graph for sex, porn, and free porn, what does that mean?

It means Google Trends confirms that Filipinos do conduct more searches of sex-related terms than money- and business-related keywords.
The Implications
Whether the graphs are accurate and whether you agree or not with the results, one thing is certain: a lot of Filipinos still have not discovered how to make money online. Although a few have already ventured into this arena, probably thousands or even millions of Filipino internet users are still unaware that genuine income and money-making opportunities do exist on the net.

This is fascinating, but I doubt that general interest on specific subjects can be derived from the search words used, though links clicked on may be another way to chart interest on certain things. This is a great site.

It’s a wonderful study made.
I am interested with making money on line. Reading thru the details ”how” is a bit hard to understand how it works and it’s hard to know on certainty of web links if they are real or just scams. How are they distinguished?

I think we have to admit that many Filipinos are afraid of the term “online business.” Most educated Filipinos who were born in the ’50’s are afraid to even touch the computer. So many more are wary about the safety of doing business and making money on line and would prefer traditional methods of doing business. So, the statement “FILIPINOS ARE MORE INTERESTED IN SEX THAN IN MONEY” would definitely be FALSE.
