Optimization Tip 3: Increase earnings with other Adsense features

Wednesday, September 20th, 2006

If you think it's possible to earn thousands of dollars a month from Google Adsense, you're right. A lot of people are already doing it. But if you think Adsense is only about ads, you're wrong. It's possible to increase your income using other Adsense features you probably don't know about.

Referrals

Earn additional cents everytime you refer a site visitor to use Google's products and services. Easy? You bet. It gets easier once you find out that these products are not only reliable but very useful as well. Through Google Adsense, you can offer a download of Firefox, a web browser with better security and privacy features, and Picasa, a photo organization software with advanced photo-editing and sharing capability. You also earn by referring visitors to sign up for Adsense, the income opportunity for site publishers, and Adwords, targeted advertising program for advertisers.

Reminiscing ST: StudioTraffic one year ago

Wednesday, September 20th, 2006

While cleaning my mailbox today, I found this email from StudioTraffic sent a year ago. It makes me chuckle thinking all the cheers and praises in the mail mean nothing anymore.

High-yield investing is indeed risky, just look at what can happen in an HYIP/autosurf program in a matter of a year.

Email from StudioTraffic sent September 10, 2005:

Dear members,

Good News! According to a popular online statistics, StudioTraffic is ranked 708 on 3rd of September. This means that StudioTraffic is ranked 708 of the most popular site among billions of websites. We are no longer a small unknown company. We are a strong company where hundreds of thousands of people come together everyday, spending at least 10% of their day, surfing at StudioTraffic. Yes, people are willing to spend that much of their time with us.

Do they really think we’re that stupid?

Sunday, September 17th, 2006

Got this email today. It’s obviously a scam targeting the greediest of all greedy ginks.

Does “Cheryl” really think we’d believe that she can double our money if we sent her $30? That e-Bullion has a flaw in the system that will let you “rob” them? And that, uh-huh, you can get away with it?

Sure, there are thousands (probably millions) who’d fall for this, but don’t be one of them!

How to make a financial plan

Thursday, September 14th, 2006

Most people want to have a nice home, put their kids to good schools, have the things they need, and live well in retirement. A comfortable lifestyle, however, does not just happen overnight, unless you win the lotto jackpot.

It takes foresight and planning, which has to start now. Have a financial road map to get you from where you are right now to where you want to be in 1, 10, 30 years or more.

What is a financial plan?

According to the book The Citibank Guide to Building Personal Wealth, “A financial plan is not a prediction of the future but a tool to help you in attaining what you want in life.”

It includes your realistic and achievable targets, taking into consideration your earnings potential, lifestyle expenses, and your tolerance for investment risks. Although a financial planner or investment adviser can make a financial plan for you, you can map out your own plan.

Introduction to Philippine Mutual Funds

Monday, September 11th, 2006

A mutual fund collectively pools money from individual and corporate investors. These funds are managed by a professional fund manager who invests the money in stocks, bonds, money market instruments, and/or other securities. The mutual fund earns in two ways: from the capital gain (increase in value) of the security and dividend or interest income. These proceeds, net of whatever charges and expenses, are passed along to the shareholders. The value of a share of the mutual fund, called the Net Asset Value (NAV), is calculated daily based on the fund's total value divided by the total number of outstanding shares.

There are mainly four types of mutual funds in the Philippines: stock (or equity), bond, balanced, and money market. Stock or equity funds invest in shares of stock of Philippine corporations listed in the Philippine Stock Exchange. Equity funds offer the highest possibility of growth among all mutual fund types, but they also have a corresponding high amount or risk.

What’s your net worth?

Sunday, September 10th, 2006

If you have to put a price tag on yourself, what amount would you pick? Determining your true net worth in real pesos is the first step towards financial independence. In fact, if you want to get ahead in life and be financially secure, you should know your net worth now.

Just what is net worth? It is the difference between your total assets and your total liabilities. It sounds pretty simple, but few people make time to calculate for it.
